Clayton D. Strand is a well seasoned businessman, whose professional career has spanned Information Technology, Manufacturing and Consulting.

After graduating from high school in 1960, Dave joined the US Army and served until 1970.

In 1970, he began his civilian business career at EDS, then headquartered in Exchange Park, near Love Field, in Dallas. In 1971 Dave moved to JC Penney's Regional Credit and Accounting Office near downtown Dallas. By 1974 he decided that he was ready to start his own business, and, with two friends, Dan Willis and Randy Richardson, formed a dry wall company. Later that year, with a much better understanding of the nature of business, Dave took a position as a computer operator at Trinity Insurance. He left Trinity in 1978 and worked as a computer consultant for several companies in the midwest.

Personal

I am a native of Dallas, TX where I have lived for most of my life, with short stays as a child in Glendale, CA and Albuquerque, NM. During my military service I was stationed for a total of almost five years in Germany in two tours, a year in Viet Nam, and 18 months in Asmara, Eritrea (then Ethiopia), as well as various installations in the continental United States.

I am single, divorced since 1972, with a grand-daughter, Mary Catherine.

I lost my wonderful son, David Kenlon, on May 1, 2005, to the last of a series of heart attacks which had begun a few weeks previously.

I retired from business on December 31, 2006. Since then I have read and reflected on events, current and past, painful and pleasant and I play poker, a lifetime passion, several days a week at the Winstar Casino in Thackerville, OK.
